Back to the beginning: the wool long ago … and even earlier – we are going to the Wool Festival!
We cannot imagine a better programme for next Saturday (13 May, 2017) than the V. Hungarian Wool Festival at Székesfehérvár!
In the midst of all-day interactive adventures, you can get acquainted with the secrets of Bronze Age textiles with the help of our researcher, Judit Pásztókai-Szeőke. What exactly will she talk about?
Clay-covered textile art: a glimpse into the workshop secrets of a 4000-3500 years old village community
Judit Pásztókai-Szeőke – Ildikó Szathmári – Gabriella Kulcsár – Viktória Kiss
We invite those to this show who would like to go back in time to get acquainted with the textile arts of the Carpathian Basin thousands of years ago. During the exotic journey, we are investigating questions like what kind of materials, tools, tools and materials have been used back then to produce textiles.
In addition, we can gain insight into the scenes of a currently undergoing scientific research project (http://mobilitas.ri.abtk.hu) on textile imprints and textile making tools from a Bronze Age settlement of the Carpathian Basin in the 2nd millennium BC. In other words: how does the archeologist work if he/she is not a Hollywood resident and his/her name is not Indiana Jones or Lara Croft?
During the event, the guests can encounter Roman Age and Medieval techniques as well as various adventurous challenges. The organizers are looking forward to welcoming everyone!
The lecture is going to be held in Hungarian. More info: https://www.gyapjufesztival.hu/ (in Hungarian)
